Access
We believe that everyone should enjoy the outdoors if they wish! Part of this is helping families experience nature together regardless of physical abilities.
What is available?
We have one Huckleberry Hiking cart and one We Carry Kevan backpack
Who are these items for?
Both the cart and the backpack are primarily for children (3 and over) & teens who may not be able to do a hike themselves. These items need to be used in tandem with another person.
Can you tell me more about the backpack?
The We Carry Kevan backpack is designed to hold up to 70lbs (including anything in the pockets). Think of it like a large version of your typical child carrier backpack. You can check out the user manual here.
Can you tell me more about the cart?
We recommend that you check out this FAQ page for all the details. The cart is recommended for people a minimum of 3 feet tall to a maximum height of 5 foot 6 inches and up to 150lbs. Please watch this video to understand how weight of the rider vs weight of the person pulling the cart can affect usage.
What do I have to do to be able to borrow the cart or backpack?
To borrow the gear please send us an email to CommunityGearLibrary@gmail.com.

What happens if gear is damaged while I am borrowing it?
All items are checked for damage after being returned and you will be charged for the replacement cost of the item or cost to fix/ clean the item.
Where are you located?
We are located in Harrisonburg, VA.
Is this free?
You are welcome to borrow the cart or backpack for free! If you would like to help us provide access for more families we would appreciate any monetary donation.
